If you want vibration/rumble to work with the Eurocom PC release of Hydro Thunder, but Force Feedback in Joystick settings is “N/A”, then this guide may help. Please note that this solution is only meant to work with Xbox 360 Wired and Wireless controllers – others are not confirmed. Credit to Erbkaiser for sharing the solution (and story) in an old Steam guide, as well as Masahiko Morii for creating the solution itself.
- Go to this site and download the latest drivers. If you are on Windows 10 or 11, choose the Windows 7 x64 release; it should still work.
- Extract the zip folder, then run the installer.
- Choose Full install.
- Once install is complete, start Hydro Thunder.
- Press F2 to open the menu – select Joystick settings.
- Check to see if Force Feedback switched from N/A to a percentage value. If so, rumble should be operational starting with your next race.
Note that both the vibration intensity and the sensitivity can be adjusted. Tinker with both settings to your satisfaction.
This solution may have the positive side-effect of fixing rumble compatibility in other games that support FFB but don’t recognize it on your Xbox 360 controller. If it affects other games, please find the main community for said games and ask if they already know about this fix. If not, please tell them!
